Emergency Services Show and the emer®tent Challenge Competition

Two wet and windy days in Novermber 2009, interspersed by the occasional ray of sunshine, allowed us to demonstrate the use of the emer-tent to provide protection for staff, equipment and visiting members of the public at the Emergency Services Show, Stoneleigh Park, Coverntry.

Despite the not very good weather we had a large number of visitors to our outside stand where we were demonstrating the standard, heavy-duty and temporary mortuary versions of the emer-tent.

As well as the usual positive feedback over our competitive pricing, we were particularly pleased to discuss with potential customers our ability to provide emergency shelters of any dimension required.  Some customers were surprised that the larger the structure, the smaller the minimum order quantity that will be necessary before we can produce a shelter exactly tailored to their needs.

The 'Win an emer-tent' Challenge Competition, with the prize of an emer-tent complete with accessories, was a big hit and attempted by young and more senior alike.  Unsurprisingly, the younger and fitter competitors recorded the fastest times inflating the emer-tent, with the foot-pump provided, often in less than 6 minutes.

The winner of the Challenge Competition was:

Corporal Lance Morton of the Rugby (Warwickshire) St John Ambulance Unit

Lance and his colleague, Sergeant David Rowlands, mounted a determined attempt to win the emer-tent in the closing stages of the final day of the show  and achieved times of 5 mins 15 seconds and 5 minutes 30 seconds respectively.

Well done to them both and we are really pleased that the emer-tent was won for such a worthy cause.  They are pctured receiving their prize from the judge, Jo who administered the competition on behalf of emer.
